The UC system released updated data on transfer application totals and major acceptance rates earlier this month. Across the entire system, the average transfer acceptance rate for any major was 45%. UC Berkeley had the lowest average transfer acceptance rate at 22%, followed closely by UCLA at 23%.

The most selective major in the UC system for transfer students was nursing science at UC Irvine, which only accepted 8 of the 371 applicants at a 2.2% acceptance rate. After that came UC Berkeley’s computer science major, with 1,870 applicants and only 50 acceptances, 43 of whom ultimately enrolled in the program. The next four most selective programs were all at UCLA: its film and television, design media arts, theater and computer science programs.
